Connecticut Belair (443) @ RESC (348), 7/15/17

On a record-breaking morning at Regency, the Sailfish close out the 2017 regular season with a loss to the Connecticut Belair Gators.

Congrats to RESC’s Noah Rutberg, who broke his own team records in 13-14 Boys 50 Free, 50 Back, and 100 IM. Noah also broke his own pool record in 100 IM, and topped the pool record in 50 Back that had been held by Lake Marion’s Tyler Pham since 2008. Noah missed the pool record in 50 Free by 1/100th of a second.

Congrats also to Connecticut Belair’s Griffin Alaniz, who broke the RESC pool records in 15-18 Boys 100 Back and 50 Fly, both of which had been set last year by Alex Munson of Hallowell.

Connecticut Belair swimmers also took down two other RESC pool records: John Frank topped the mark that had been set last year by Regency’s Alexander Wen in 9-10 Boys 25 Breast, and the Gators’ 175 Graduated Free Relay team (John Frank, Luke Frank, Eamon Smith, and Luke Rienzo) crushed the pool record — and Connecticut Belair’s team record — by nearly 2 seconds.
